Biography

The Parlor at its core is Eric Krans and Jen O’Connor, partners who have written music together since their inevitable meeting in the elevator of a UMass Amherst dormitory in 1998. The band is so named to honor the room in the haunted 19th century farmhouse in Upstate New York where Krans and O’Connor have written and recorded all of their music for the past six years. The Parlor’s music, which is entirely recorded by the duo and then performed live with a band of friends, has been described as enchanting, magical, and inspiring.

The Parlor has shared the bill with acts such as The Lumineers, Willy Mason, Deer Tick, Phantogram, Sharon Van Etten, Avi Buffalo, and These United States, and has performed in venues as far reaching as New Zealand, Thailand, and Laos.
