The Story:
One afternoon, back home in Brooklyn, my real home, I was playing guitar on the living room couch. My older brother Andy overheard me singing and what not and on his way out the door mentioned to me, in a tone that I took as mockery, that I sounded like Robert Zimmerman. Robert Zimmerman? “Who the hell is that?” I thought. I was pissed.

I followed him out the door, pissed off and curious to know who this “Robert Zimmerman” was. I was sure he was some momo who nobody liked. After much pestering, he finally turned and said Bob Dylan.

That proves two things. One. I’m not the “smartest” person around. And Two… oh I don’t know. I play an acoustic guitar and sing how I want to sing!

Pingüinos is a mostly one man act, who’s sole member is Peter Mollica. Myfriendpeter was the old jam, but Pingüinos is the latest concoction, ever since I returned from South America and found myself ready to start something new. The majority of Pingüinos songs, especially the most recent are written on the ukulele, the cuatro (a larger Latin American version of the ukulele), accordion and acoustic guitar. Some songs are fun and catchy, some are dark and sad and some are in Spanish so who knows what you’ll understand (or what I said correctly). Check it out!
