Happy 2012 everybody! Members of B3nson have decided to challenge themselves with the task of collectively releasing at least 1 new song for every week of 2012. Home recordings, demos, live stuff, remixes, collaborations… anything goes! This week we have a long-lost demo from Eric Krans (of The Parlor) recorded sometime between 2009′s “Animals Are People Too” and 2012′s “Our Day In the Sun”. This song is called Lightning In A Jar and it is absolutely terrific!

The Family Fang should probably be a movie. A few reviews have even compared author Kevin Wilson’s writing to the work of Wes Anderson. This comparison works well enough. The book centers around a dysfunctional and quirky family comprised of a beautiful actress, her brother, and artist parents that are oblivious to everyone but themselves. The pages are full of dry humor with a few touching moments for good measure. As a comedy, this book works well. Beyond that, it falls a bit short.
