Song-A-Week Celebration #9

3 March 2012 2 Comments

Happy 2012 everybody! Members of B3nson have decided to challenge themselves with the task of collectively releasing at least 1 new song for every week of 2012. Home recordings, demos, live stuff, remixes, collaborations… anything goes! Every week we’ll be posting a new song to our Song-A-Week 2012 Celebration bandcamp page and posting information about the artist and track here on b3nson.net. It’s an exciting project and at the end of 2012 we hope to have at least 52 new recordings to share with you!
Who? Next The World (FT. KC MASTERPIECE, MANN LOVE, EM16, THE OTHER HAF, MESSY B, DJ KILL MURRAY)
What? “Lumber Whack”
Where? Los Angeles, Ballston Spa, Ballston Lake, the World Wide Web
When? February 2012
Why? Because there are a lot of whack lumberjacks out there looking to get hurt.
How? Empty all the samples into a large bowl. Apply heat and stir until the beat thickens. First add in some KC MASTERPIECE, this will bring out the West-Coast flavor. Just when KC starts to solidify with the beat sprinkle in everyone’s favorite secret ingredient, MANN LOVE. Notice how MANN LOVE changes the texture and the entire mix takes new form. Spice it up with a little DJ KILL MURRAY– not a lot, you don’t want to overdo it, a little goes a long way. Now, to bring out the sweetness, add a healthy amount of EM16. This ingredient is new to the market but I have a feeling it will start to become a primary component in future NTW dishes. Swap some DR. HAF (a low-grade lard substitute) for THE OTHER HAF and your cake is almost complete. The best part of course is the frosting. Go MESSY B with it and really top it off.
