B3nson Family Band

So, as seems to be the case (more and more frequently) things are very very busy at camp B3nson- with several new releases on the horizon as well as other shenanigans for the not-too-distant future, we’re all very excited! First of all we would like to thank everyone who came out to see the debut performance of the B3nson Family Band last Friday! We had a grand time and we were so glad to see so many people show up and sing along. Videos and pictures of that performance should be surfacing in the next week or so.

Secondly, the long-awaited release of the Scientific Maps ep ‘Galvanic Wizardry’ will go down at the end of this month! I have not heard it yet, but word is that Aaron Smith and co. have really outdone themselves on this one (release details at the bottom)! Early in August we will finally see the release of the (also) long-awaited record by We Are Jeneric, titled ‘Animals Are People Too’. For those of you who have caught the last few Jeneric shows you know how awesome this record is going to be, we have been treated to some teasers and you can expect some more when they perform at the Albany Public Library this Friday! Lets hope they play the Squirrel Song (not sure if that is the actual title or not, sorry Jen and Eric).

Littlefoot (aka Seth Tillinghast) has been busy finishing up his debut album, which sounds spectacular! No release date has been set, but he has uploaded some ‘close to finished’ mixes on his myspace which you can listen to here: myspace.com/littlefootmakessounds. Seth has been working overtime as he and the rest of BEWARE! the Other Head of Science continue to keep busy on their debut full-length. Completion of the record is still off on the distant horizon, but things have been heating up with vocals getting laid down, massive amounts of synth sounds being layered on top of each other, and preliminary mixes being started. In other exciting news, Kamran Parwana has returned to the capital/Saratoga region from his adventures overseas. July 22nd will mark his first show back with BEWARE! at an all ages show in Saratoga (details at the bottom).

And lastly, Desperately Obvious off-shoot The Boston Celtics are working on a full-length follow-up to 2008’s ‘Flower Moon’ ep. So far it sounds amazing, however, die-hard BC fans may want to start saving up for a new stereo system- the whole record will be mixed in surround sound!

That is currently all the news that I have access to and am at liberty to discuss. Though I will end with this bit of information: a Family meeting has been called for next week. That tends to only happen when things of epic proportions are underfoot! Thanks for reading. Check out the shows below!
