Pingüinos and The Rain in Spain tonight

If you’re looking for something to do tonight (Saturday) there will be an outstanding show at the Muddy Cup. Though the cafe is known more for hosting open mics than shows, the lineup promises an entertaining evening. B3nson’s own tight-pants’d, latin inspired folk-musician, Pingüinos, will be playing. There will also be local folk-pop outfit The Rain in Spain, with their revamped lineup. Their sound will please fans of Rilo Kiley and Feist, and I’m excited to hear what the new members add. In addition to the two locals, Ohio natives Letters to the Moon and American War will also be passing through on their tour. Letters to the Moon is an acoustic, male-female duo with catchy tunes who are regrettably difficult to find on the internet; however, a quick search on the googles should present a few live videos. American War is a one man folk-punk act with more versatility than many others in the genre, not to mention a better voice. Check out the video of his song, “Bricks.”

The show is at 6:30 p.m. At the Muddy Cup on Madison Avenue. It’s a free show, but a donation for the touring acts would be greatly appreciated. Come out and support some locals as well as some sweet touring acts.
